Squiggle An Initiative to boost Bodyguard Membership

Provincial Prior’s Bodyguard The Provincial Prior R.E.Kt. David Jordan has decided to change the rule regarding “when you receive Provincial Rank you retire from the Provincial Prior’s Bodyguard”.

The Provincial Prior has also decided to allow Eminent Knights who perhaps wished they had joined the Provincial Prior’s Bodyguard before taking the chair, will now be allowed to join the Bodyguard.

The Provincial Prior has taken these decisions following consultation with the Provincial Executive, with a view to helping the Commander of the Bodyguard to ensure that adequate numbers of members are available following the pandemic. Like all masonic units the Bodyguard are struggling with getting existing and new Bodyguard members to perform the important duties of escorting the Provincial Prior and Sub Prior. Both these Initiative will hopefully encourage Eminent Knights to swell the ranks of the Bodyguard to pre Pandemic levels.

The standard application process and probation period will remain in place for prospective Provincial Prior’s Bodyguard member, and if successful the new members of the Bodyguard will be allowed to wear the Bodyguard mantle badge and also join the prestigious Kent Bodyguard Preceptory.

This is also open to any ‘Past’ members of the Bodyguard who may have stood down, and also all Eminent Knights wishing to join. For further details please contact the Bodyguard Commander, Kt. Stephen Hyland: stevehyland1@outlook.com

Yours in the Bonds of the Order,

E.Kt. Dennis Dean
Provincial Vice-Chancellor for the Provincial Priory of Kent
