Squiggle St. Michael’s Preceptory celebrate a half century

St. Michael’s Preceptory No.436 50th year Anniversary Celebration meeting on the 14th March 2022 at Sittingbourne Masonic Hall.

Forty Knights of the Province of Kent along with the Provincial Prior R.E.Kt David Jordan being escorted by many active Provincial Officers and members of the Provincial Prior’s bodyguard attended this excellent 50th Anniversary meeting to Celebrate the Consecration on the Preceptory on the 29th of February 1972.

buffer The Preceptory Registrar E.Kt. Stephen Dunsdon organized a really enjoyable meeting where E.Kt. Keith James Whitby was Installed into the chair by E.Kt. Ramsey John Bahrawy. The minutes of the Consecration meeting were read out by the Preceptory Registrar including the names of all the Founders. The Preceptory Treasurer E.Kt. William Mark Pennell on behalf of the members of the Preceptory presented to the Provincial Prior R.E.Kt. David Jordan a donation of £750 to the support of St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital. R.E.Kt. David Jordan thanked the Preceptory for the much needed donation and congratulated all the officers on their sword drill during the Installation ceremony.

The Celebrations continued at the Refectory where a splendid five course meal was served to the Knights present to reflect the Consecration meal fifty years ago.

Smoked Salmon entrée, Carrot and Coriander Soup, Roast Pork with all the trimmings, Joyce’s Melon Surprise and Cheese and Biscuits. Only difference between now and the Consecration meal was Suckling Pig for the Main.

At the conclusion of the Knights Templar Toasts, V.E.Kt. Colin Paul Tunbridge called the Knights to toast the Founders of the Preceptory who included Past Provincial Prior of Kent. R.E.Kt. Dr.Roy James Edney. G.C.T.
