A Presentation At The Shirley Woolmer Preceptory No.500The Shirley Woolmer Preceptory No.500 held a special event on the 6th of June 2025 at the Sidcup Masonic Hall.
The Preceptory Registrar E.Kt. Robin Gurney invited the Representative of the St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital E.Kt. Vernon King, the Provincial Vice-Chancellor of London, to give an presentation and update on the situation in Jerusalem, where the St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital is based and the West bank and the Gaza strip where they send out reach mobile clinics to treat the local inhabitants in these war torn areas.

The Preceptory proposed that a sum of £500 be donated to the St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital and was duly handed to E.Kt. Vernon who thanked the Preceptory for their generous donation. E.Kt. Venon King has been to the Eye Hospital in Jerusalem a number times and met the CEO Dr. Ahmad Ma’ali and the and members of staff.
The knights present retired after a very long and well run meeting to the refectory to enjoy a three meat carvey. All washed down with champagne supplied by E.Kt. Dmytro Tupchiienko.
