On the 10th of May 2025 at Ashford Masonic Hall, St. George Bahrain Lodge No.7389, E.Kt. Robyn Murdo-Smith of Black Prince Preceptory No.146 accompanied by Kt. Neil Head of Galloway Preceptory No.596 and Kt. Brian Cooper of Lord Harris Preceptory No.475, presented an informative lecture on the Edward Woodstock the Prince of Wales.

Edward was the son of King Edward III and was known as the Black Prince. He was knighted at the age of 16 by his father and led the English army at the famous battle of Poitiers during the hundred years war. The Black Prince married Joan of Kent and had three famous sons; namely King Richard the II, John of Gaunt and Edmund of Langley. He died aged forty five years and is buried in Canterbury Cathedral.
E.Kt. Robyn was invited by W.Bro. Richard McAllister, the Lodge Secretary, who with the Worshipful Master thanked the Knights for the well delivered and researched lecture. The Black Prince is honoured by one of Kent’s oldest Preceptory namely the Black Prince Preceptory No.146 who badge proudly bears the coat of Arms of the legendary Black Prince.
