The Kent Provincial Church Service

The Kent Provincial Church Service was held on Sunday the 11th of December 2022 at St. James the Great Church, East Malling. A very well attended congregation attended with many Knights in Full regalia and their family members.

The Provincial Sub Prior E.Kt. Pieter Jan Swinge was escorted into the Church by the Provincial Active officers present through a very large contingent of the Provincial Prior’s bodyguard forming an arch of steel.

The Provincial Sub Prior welcomed everyone to the St. James the Great Church and the Provincial Prelate E.Kt. Howard Pashley conducted the Christmas Church Service, during the service the scripture lessons were read by V.E.Kt Noel Grout and E.Kt. Pieter Jan Swinge.

Provincial Organist E.Kt. Kevin Johnson played some favorite and well loved traditional Christmas Carols and the Provincial Almoner Kt. Leslie Fraser gave the Traditional Knightly Prayers. After the Service collection which raised a fantastic £400 for the benefit of the St. James the Great Church the Provincial Sub Prior and his wife Gillian lead the Procession out of the Church along with all the Active officers.

Afterwards all the Knights and their families enjoyed a splendid afternoon tea of sandwiches and cake all selected and arranged by Gillian and Pieter Swinge.
