He was probably born in Beaumont Palace, Oxford in 1157.Married Berengaria of Navarre France on 12th of May 1191, on his way to the Holy Land in St. Georges Chapel, Limassol, because Berengaria had been ship wrecked and taken prisoner by Issac Komenos, the ruler of Cyprus.
